The Russian artist Svetlana Petrova inherited the orange tabby cat Zarathustra when her mother died in 2008. When a friend suggested one day to make the cat an object of her paintings an art project was born. The artist photoshops Zarathustra in high-resolution copies of famous paintings. In a next phase Petrova paints over the print to create the effect of an old canvas. The results can be viewed and bought at Great Artists’ Mews.
